What does BookWords do?
Point your camera at an unfamiliar word in a physical book, confirm it, and BookWords builds a flashcard — definition, kid-friendly explanation, pronunciation, and synonyms — for you to review together later.
Do you keep photos of my child's books?
No. Once a card is approved, the photo used to capture it is discarded.
Is an account required?
No — you can capture your first word and build your library before signing in. Sign in with Apple is optional.
Why does BookWords need camera access?
The camera reads words directly off the page using on-device text recognition. Nothing is uploaded — recognition happens on your phone.
Something isn't working — what should I include when I report it?
Your iPhone model, iOS version, and a quick description of what happened — a screenshot helps a lot too. Email it to
colby@bookwords.co.
Is BookWords available on Android?
Not yet — BookWords is currently iPhone-only, in beta.
